Noel, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. I recently saw that you and Peter are scheduled to perform in Cerritos, CA in April. Any chance of also returning to Thousand Oaks, CA around that time? Have loved your PP&M music from the start, and treasure the many PBS specials over the years, and seeing you and Peter perform several times in Thousand Oaks. I also fondly remember my surprise meeting you waiting for an elevator at the T. O. Kavli Theater ("Beautiful") when I mistook you for someone named Al that I used to work with. Best Wishes and I'm so pleased to see that you and Peter have resumed treating the public to your wonderful performances.
Noel - Merry Christmas
I reached out years ago with plans for a BenefitPark concert for Jimmy Nalls. Great musician support but wind came out of the sails before $ came together. And then we lost him. Fortunately Nashville friends had released his final home board tapes with major guitar collaborators while he was here to feel the love.
Wanted NOW to say - Your Christmas album playing today has become one of our top musical choices of the season.
In the mix: Phil Keaggy's Welcome Inn (you may know it) - great McCartney-like creations plus his wonderful guitar lines, and Larry Carlton's Christmas at My House - delightful instrumental adventures.
But Something Special stands alone for the spirit of your vocal styling. Wanted you to know how your spirit has elevated our family day. God Bless - and hope you never lose your [grin]
Hi, When I was younger I used to listen to The Scott Ross Show on the radio. Around Christmas time he would play a lot of music by you and PPM. I remember he would play Asoalin, Jingle Bells and Sleigh Ride. Scott passed away not to long ago. He had a great radio show and spoke highly of you. I've been listening to these songs today in memory of him and also my association with your music during Christmas time. Could you tell me if Paul And and One Night Stand are available on CD? I hope you have a great Christmas. I saw you on PBS when you came to Norfolk,Va years ago. Take care and pray for peace. Bill Bass
Noel, many years ago I was a reporter and visited you in Blue Hill. I was thinking of you today and of what a gracious host you were. Thank you again. You had an an older man named Reggie and a secretary named Elane working with you--I hope I have their names right--who were, also, very kind--everyone was, a very special group. Happy Christmas to all of you and good luck on your next tour. My best, Joe
Hello, Paul:
I know your 'real' name is Noel (a real shame it didn't 'fit' with Peter and Mary) but I 'knew' you as Paul long before I found out your real name) so please forgive me!
I first learned of the trio in 1961-2 when I was a cadet at Staunton Military Academy and the three of you have remained at the absolute top of my most inportant groups of all time - and that's saying something considering the number of groups I have to select from. I absolutely love your music and one of your songs, Don't Think Twice, was the reason I took up the guitar. Unfortunately I wasn't very good at it and, combined with University and a 28-year spell serving my country with the USAF, I am afraid it never went anywhere. But your guitar work is still my favourite.
Today, I am retired from the USAF and live in England. I saw you so many tim s and loved every minute of it. Beginning on the Saturday evening following the unfortunate assassination of President Kennedy in Houston, Texas, I was also privileged to see you on two successive weeks in San Antonio, Texas. An appearance in Austin, Texas was highlighted with a visit after the show!
I continue to shed a tear for the loss of Mary. I realy wish I had actually known her because she seems like a truly wonderful lady!
I will stop now. Thank you for the opportunity to contact you (I was the one who pointed out that the link didn't work!) in this way because I feel closer to you and to the group as a result. I wish you and your family happiness in all you do.
Hello Paul. I write from Argentina. I have had the privilege of knowing your songs and those that you have interpreted together with Mary and Peter. All of them, as a band and as a soloist, fill my soul every day and I feel a great emotion knowing that next month you will reunite in concert with Peter. I wish you the best and that life continues to give us your talent and sensitivity for a long time. Gustavo
Devouring the “Carry it On” Box set yet again, and still relish memories of attending the PPM show at Chicago, Symphony Center. Every time I hear the Slash guitar solo from “Sweet Child O’Mine” I imagine hearing “The Wedding Song” morphed onto it, like a DJ mix. Do I have too much free time? Love all that you guys have done, MJ
Please tell me where I can write to you for an autograph. I would love you to sign one of my Peter Paul and Mary albums
We just bought tickets for the Mar 18 show in Mesa, AZ. Will bring my mother, Gail (Welter) who introduced us to her "high school friend" when were children. Looking forward to seeing you in person!
As a child in the early 60s, my father often sang “Puff” to me, with accompanying shenanigans from my Puff hand puppet. I loved the song and got a warm feeling every time I heard it as I grew up.
At my wedding, my husband chose your Wedding Song for our first dance, which was lovely. And for my dance with my father, I chose Puff the Magic Dragon.
Never was I ever so grateful for waterproof mascara. My choice decimated everyone at the reception as well. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for such a tender, precious moment. Dad has since passed, but that will remain one of my most treasured memories.
Bless you, NPS. ♥️
My dear brother Phil just told me that his dream would be to meet NPS and/or have a guitar lesson from him. Would you be open to given a guitar lesson to my dear brother, even one time (like by Zoom)? It would be gift from me. We are lifelong lovers of PPM, sing your music at family singalongs, well into our 7th decade! Love, Ian, Ithaca, NY
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Hey Noel "Paul"! Just wanted to say thank you for all the great music! I've been listening to P, P & M, my whole life! I'm 38 now and have been a musician myself for the past 30 years. You've been a great influence on me and what I do. Thank you and God bless. p.s. Lemon Tree is one of your best vocals ever! And can you please say Hi to my dad MOOSE!
Seasons greetings, Noel! I am listening to P, P & M’s Christmas album—a favorite. You 3 forged my love for folk music. I have always loved your voice and your songwriting (wore the grooves off “Paul And”). I’m a 66 year old history teacher. I greatly impressed with your newest release. You sound terrific. I look forward to seeing you somewhere in New England in 2023!
hello Sir....I work as music director at a Presbyterian Church in South Carolina....we would like to use your "Christmas Dinner" at our Christmas Eve service this year....is the music available in print anywhere?....as a singer/guitarist I've admired your work for years.....thank you
Now I have turned 75 and my daughter played me your version or "75 Septembers". I knew PP&M by the time you played Sydney, Australia, in an appalling boxing stadium with revolving stage and corrugated iron accoustics, 1964. I thank God for you and the love and wisdom you have shared out of your experience, oh, and the music! ...hope to see you again in the audience when there are 10,000 times 10,000 present :-)
I have been a fan since 1964 when you came to Japan. I thoroughly enjoyed your concert with Peter last Saturday at Keane University. We were sitting on the fourth row center. My sons from Houston and Saint Louis flew in just for your concert. Thank you for all the joys, thoughts and love brought to me through your songs and words.
Noel' I want to once again being an inspiration to fellow musicians. I have played your songs and sung them all over the world, but the one song I will never forget is Leaving on A Jet Plane. hearing it on my head phones as I was taking off for my first tour. I cried as it was so true to my spirit then used a song or two in sermons. Keep up the faith and strong musical truth we all need each day.
Paul.
Hello! Are you going to host any live shows this year?
Dear Mr. Stookey, I want to wish you the very best. Your beautiful music, and especially The Wedding Song, brings me joy and never gets old. I was playing it today and decided to reach out and thank you for it. You're the same age as my mother and I pray you're in good health and walk in peace. I'd love to hear from you but I understand that millions of others would as well. Warmest regards, Allen
