Hi Noel, I have kind of an odd question, and I hope it's not an imposition. My wife Betsy remembers being at a concert you did at the Westchester Ethical preschool around 1970. (after the Peter, Paul and Mommy concert), and that there was a record made. Unfortunately, her father threw away a bunch of her records. Do you have any recollection of this, or even a copy of the record, or know where I might find one for her birthday? Thanks so much!

Noel, It was a delight for Kathy and I to hear you at Poor David's Pub Saturday night. You sang splendidly! As I mentioned earlier, it was 53 years ago this month that we got engaged after your concert in Roanoke VA. Thank you for continuing to be a voice for justice and equity and righteousness. Our personal story: I watched the Johnny Carson Show in early 1960s and saw PP&M sing "If I Had A Hammer" and was smitten. I bought your second album, "Moving, " a used guitar and taught myself to fingerpick, "A Soalin". I was 15. I was also smitten with a girl who was singing with her boyfriend (which is why I learned to play guitar). We started singing together and learned every PP&M song from every album from "Presenting" (1960) to "Peter, Paul and Mommy" (1969). I lost the girl but found her 6 years later and married her(1975). For 60 years, you have been our North Star. Your words, your songs and your lives have guided us. They still do. I just wanted to thank you for what you have given us.

Hello Mr. Stookey. I am writing here because I just found your old trio song "500 Miles" and wanted to share how much it touched me. When I think of my life and especially the place I lived where I studied in university, I feel like I am on that train 500 miles away from it not just physically, but in time too. I miss these days so dearly and I get reminded of them each year when the dandelions flower. Your song has made me shed the most bittersweet tears in years and I wanted to thank you for making me feel human again.

Herbert Watzl Hello Mr. Stookey, When I was young—I’m 68 now—I got my hands on PPM’s LP “TEN YEARS TOGETHER” and was immediately captivated. That enthusiasm has lasted to this day. My twin brother and I sang many PPM songs together. I tried to pick out the chords and the individual voices of Mary, Paul, and Peter. For a short time, we also had the chance to sing with a girl. That became T,H&R. Of course, we were still far from PPM’s perfection, and we didn’t have a bassist either. I’ve always tried to find sheet music for the songs. Unfortunately, it was almost always just piano reductions, with hardly any information about the fingerpicking or the bass. I’ve never found the sheet music for the vocals. Maybe it was never written down because with PPM, everyone always knew who was supposed to sing which notes, so a written record wasn’t necessary. But perhaps these recordings do exist after all. It would be wonderful to know where one can obtain the vocal sheet music for PPM. I could then, for example, compare whether what I’ve heard matches the original. Life goes on, but some of PPM’s songs have a timeless quality. With best wishes Herbert

Bought seats early for Cerritos to bring my Searsport, Maine native wife and her sister (we also have a summer place in Swanville). Previously saw you at McCabe's and Grammy Museum. Anyway since no one said I couldn't, I took videos of several of your songs - and they came out great. Noel, I came to your page today for inspiration…for a deeper understanding into our friend, Kirk Taylor, who passed away a few weeks ago. He and his wife, Livvie, were/are devoted fans of yours. They met you years ago…you might even remember them. Kirk honored Joe and me by singing The Wedding Song at our wedding thirty-eight years ago at the Swedenborgian Church in San Francisco. So, it is now, as I begin to compose words of tribute to Kirk that I will be reading later this month at his Celebration of Life, that I turn to the words you wrote so many years ago for inspiration. Hello! I need to let you know that I've read the lyrics to Puff The Magic Dragon, and I find them literally devastating. I don't know if you were the one to write the lyrics or not, but as a musician who created the song, I need you to tell me that Puff goes on to be played with again (or i will never be able to sleep at night again). (maybe he's passed down generationally?) I feel like there should have definitely been more lyrics after he was sadly abandoned, and i can't stop thinking about it. Please help me, i am desperate.
