Hi, Noel. Hope you are well. I always to work on my singing with people you 3, Judy Collins, etc. Glad to see you keeping up the good work. Stay with it. I miss Peter and Mary bunches. Stay well, big guy.
I was listening to my station on Apple Music and heard your song Irish Blessing. It came at a time that I needed to hear these words. I shared this on my Facebook page and quickly received many thank you’s for posting the poem and a link to your song. Thank You.
Dear Noel,
Many years ago when I was a student at UCSD, if PP&M performed in San Diego, one of my room mates (Bob Stinson?) used to meet up with you after the concert as your temporary driver. He would take you to visit one of his own family members, who was a good friend of yours from earlier days. We all loved your music, and Bob Stinson would share with us roomies some wonderful tales of his rides with you.
Noel, am I remembering this correctly? If so, could you possibly share the story of your friend, and whether or not you have seen him and/or Bob Stinson more recently? I haven't seen Bob Stinson in about 30 years! Thank you much for shedding any light you can on these old memories (or delusions?) of mine. And of course, thanks for your music, best wishes to you and Betty, and keep keepin' the Faith!
Hi Noel wow what a delight ar The Kate yesterday. I first met you 3 in Wash DC. I was so moved by the Great Mandela. It opened a door for me. I got old guitar $15. Strings like razors but I kept on. We had the privilege of seeing Mary when she was so ill. She wore oxygen but her voice was so strong. Mext come Peter at the Kate. He invited us up on stage to sing Puff. I was so emotional being there. I noticed his shoe was not tied, I stooped down to tie it Haha. Then yesterday your voice so delightful. Love Fazz and Just Causes. you give back. I have a mini doxie His name isn't Blue, but he's a good dog too. He's a therapy dog. We visit schools assisted living places, he's even a member of the Coast Guard Academy. The cadets love him. Puts on shows too. It's a small way we can give back for the blessings we have received. I was so moved by your new verses to America. The spiritual heart is so moved. God bless you and your family. Safe travels good health Hope to see you again Cricket
Thank you for the splendid concert in Old Saybrook. You were phenomenal. You truly
inspire hope in these very challenging times. I hope you'll do concerts in Massachusetts as well.
I just read about Peter Yarrow's passing. I was saddened and wanted to share my condolences with you. I remember our conversations at Northfield Mount Hermon well and with warmth. All the best to you and Betty.
While working on my wife's family genealogy, I discovered that you recorded a song about a distant uncle of hers. She is a descendant of Tom Quick (the infamous "Indian Killer" of the 1700's.) I was hoping to get any information you may have on him, and / or the song you released on 01-01-1977. We can't choose our relatives, and he certainly is not a hero for this branch of the Quick family, but it is part of her history, and a fresh perspective is a good thing. Thank you for your attention.

I remember well the first time I heard 'WHERE HAVE ALL THE FLOWERS GONE'. I was very young, and my father took the time to explain the meaning of the song to me. A pretty song then became a very meaningful one, and I've always carried the message with me. Thank you, Noel.
Good evening - My heart is warm, with all of the colors and lights and feels and years and generations of family living with your and the trio's music in my life. I'm a thrifty gal, but getting a ticket to fly from PDX to Bangor to be in the front row at the Steuben concert was worth every cent. I sing with "Threshold" for those near death, and would love to share America the Beautiful and All Through the Night at bedside. How might we seek permission?
I would love to know what tuning and what chords you play in order for there is love i would love to play along!
Dear Mr. Stookey; I just wanted to drop a quick line to ask how you are holding up through all the trials that you have had to endure over the first half of 2025. None of us are kids anymore and I wanted to let you know that you remain in my prayers, just as I have prayed for both Mr. Yarrow and Ms. Travers. I wish for you to experience the very best of life and happiness and please keep composing and performing. Now, more than ever, the world needs your wisdom and the love in your heart that has blessed us all. I also realized that I didn't wish you Happy Birthday during the dark days at the end of 2024. (Color me embarrased!) So please know that there are people out here who legitimately care about you and your well-being and would like your voice and guitar (and your message) to be around for a long time to come! Wishing you every blessing, may I most cotdially remain,
Your Friend and Brother,
James Rupert,
Lincoln, Nebraska.
Hi Noel Paul--
Did PPM ever perform "One Tin Soldier"? Some folks seem to think so, but I have all the recordings, and it's not there.
Hello! I'm so happy to have found your site. I work for a progressive Lutheran church and always struggle to appropriately acknowledge holidays like July 4th. The updated lyrics to America the Beautiful are EXACTLY what I had hoped to find somewhere. May I use them in our upcoming July 6th service? We will gladly list the source in our worship notes.
Grew up on Peter, Paul & Mary music, introduced by my brother and his friend who came home from college and sang to me "Puff". Your music was instrumental in my life. Thank you for that!
Dear Noel, very sorry for your loss of Peter. My wife & best bud Julie (we've been married now for 54 years) attended countless concerts by PP&M since the 60's, and we were also fortunate to be in the audience at Cerritos when you and he last performed there, which must have been one of your final concerts together. Peter (and Mary too) will be missed, but we love your own music so much and respect your true faith and dedication to that and your other endeavors in the interest of justice and peace, especially in these very difficult times. Your life and work are a major inspiration for our family and so many others.
I was watching old concerts, videos, etc on You Tube. Saw this song.."Wasn't that a Time". Wow! We need that out now! So needed in today's time. Music used to be a major part of resistance and sentiment. How to get that message out to today's performers?
Love your music !!
As a young man born in the early 50's and growing up in the 60's, I loved all kinds of music, and PPM was the primary group that honed both my music and philosophical leanings. My embrace of love peace and happiness was enriched by you. Thank you beyond what words can say for illuminating my path all those years ago and for your faith which continues to help me light my way. Enjoying the substack posts. Looking forward to the book.
Paul — adding on to Leslie Sobel's comment — my church's music director often introduces engaged couples to your "Wedding Song" as a piece for their service. This new generation has never heard the song! And they love it. It lives on...
Dear Noel, just a note to tell you how much I admire you. I've been a fan since the early 60's (I'm 73 now). Your integrity and deeply felt spirituality is a special quality granted to a few. Hope you can keep on keeping on with your music. Your album "In Love Beyond our Lives" had a profound impact on me. Thank you for that.
Did you know Ian Tyson from your days back in the 60's in Greenwich Village. His song "Summer Wages" is one of my all time favorites.
