Reverence
(by Noel Paul Stooey and Dave Mann)
In this world of many nations
On this planet we call earth
Just a tiny part of all creation
And the cradle of our birth
Hope and promise reawaken
Hear the call of destiny
There's a new dawn that is gently breaking Let us answer reverently
Reverence, we’ll listen to the glory
That dwells in you, dwells in me
Reverence, hear the whisper of the holy
Calling us to live in the mystery
From every synagogue and steeple
Every mosque and ashram too
Hear the prayers for peace from the hearts of people Rising now as the spirit moves
Reverence for all we've been given
Reverence for those unseen hands
Reverence for our sister and our brother Every woman and every man
Sometimes it's hard I know
To keep control when hatred fills the air
But there's a place our soul
Where peaceful waters flow
And love will meet us there
In reverence for all that's living
On the land and in the sea
For the heavens that surround us
Let us live most reverently and
I pray that love may find us willing
With trusting hearts and thankful too
That love alive and soon becoming
Love alive in me and you
Reverence, listen to the glory
That dwells in you, dwells in me
Reverence, hear the whisper of the holy
Calling us to live in the mystery
Reverence for all we've been given
Reverence for those unseen hands
Reverence for your sister and your brother every woman, every man
Reverence and thanks for the spirit that will Lead us on to the promised land
I say lead us on to the promised land
