Neworld Sampler, curiously identified as being ‘hatched by a henhouse on the coast of Maine’, contains three songs each from four singer/songwriters, John Stuart, Peter Campbell, Kevin Roth and Noel Paul Stookey.

As Noel explains, the rich history of the South Blue Hill henhouse has produced an incredible arc of creativity that had its beginning in the mid 70’s. Among those contributing to the creative Neworld dream were three special souls who had traveled from near and far. Peter Campbell brought his musical insights and family of six all the way from Australia - to stay in a little cabin across the street - honing his lyrical talents to describe the victories and challenges of contemporary life. John Stuart from a neighboring coastal Maine town became the chief recording engineer at the Eight Track Studio, and, utilizing his instrumental and vocal abilities, simultaneously fronted the folk-rock Dirty Laundry band while Kevin Roth, a fan and friend from the earlier days of PP&M, sought to expand the predictable role of the folk dulcimer with original inventive lyrics set in a totally absorbing synth world created by keyboard artist Michael McInnis.

All these folks became part of an artistic family; in creative proximity of one another and encouraged by an off-the-wall folk music disrupter named Stookey, (who still doesn't seem able to contain his eclecticism). Such is the way of the music contained in this NEWORLD SAMPLER.
